Hey everyone. Summer has finally hit in Oregon and it has been a little too
hot to go out hunting all day. I have gotten out on a few mornings and weekends
though and made some decent finds. Got a Rosie and some Wheaties at various old
colleges in my area. I even got a Rosie at my old hunted out standby park. It
was under a nickel of the same year, 1953. That park never ceases to amaze me.
Also got a silver ring at a school that I was able to give my daughter for her
birthday. She sure does love the jewelry.
Going to pick up a good detecting friend tomorrow morning to go hunt some more
schools. It should be fun as long as it doesn't get too hot. Hopefully I will
get some silver but it should be fun regardless. Good hunting all!!!

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been keeping up on this very much, but you
know how life goes. Haven't been getting out too much this summer, just here
and there. School and the kids take up a lot of my time and the weather has
not been great this summer. I did get a silver Rosie and a wheatie on my last
outing to an old college campus, so that was nice.
Got a great birthday present this year from some friends. They show up at my house
with a bag of potting soil and say, "Get your machine boy!!!" Hidden amongst
some trash and a wheatie I found a beautiful 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter. It
was a very nice find and a great idea for a detecting man. I will never forget
that present.

I hope everyone is having a great detecting year. I have been getting out
more and more as the weather gets better. January was a nice hunting month for
me but February and March have been wet and rainy. The best finds for me the
last two months were wheaties from the '20s. I am hoping that Spring coming will
allow things to dry out around here. Some new friends joined the hobby and we
have been hitting more private property spots, but I still visit the old parks
now and then for a relaxing hunt, hoping I missed something on previous hunts.
Hope you all are having better weather and luck than I am.

A belated Happy New Year to all. I have been out several times already this
new year with some decent finds to show for it. Mostly thanks to some new
detecting friends from work and their permission to hunt some private property.
Got a few wheats, a buffalo nickel and even a Mercury dime. It sure was nice
to get that dime, been a while. I plan on hunting more this year if my responsibilities
allow. Sure hope to get a Seated, that would be nice, or a Walker half even.
I should have some new pics of this month's finds up soon. Thanks to everyone
for visiting my site!!!

Well, I have been back at work for a while now and life is finding it's groove.
I have gotten out hunting here and there and found some nice coins over at
my old stand-by park. Never ceases to amaze me that I still find old coins there.
This last trip yielded a '57 wheatie, some nickels from the '50s and a real heartbreaker.
The heartbreaker was a Barber dime that was bent and corroded almost beyond recognition.
I could read "ONE DIME" on one side and see the silhouette of the Liberty head on
the other side, but no date. At least it wasn't another unrecognizable Seated Liberty
coin, that would have really broken my heart.
More to come...

My son Cooper is home now and is already a week old. I am enjoying my time
off with the family and trying to help out the wife at home.
I think that while my oldest is at school this week I will try and get out to
some parks for some quick hunting. I know I have hunted out most of them but you
just never know. Hopefully I get something cool to post on the site.

The family and I are anxiously awaiting the birth of our son. The little guy
is due he 11th so any day now.
I was able to get out a couple of times in the past few weeks. On one excursion
with some detecting buddies of mine, I found a silver 1964 Rosie dime and a junk
ring along with clad. At the house of a friend on another hunt I found 4 wheat
pennies with dates or 1920, 1924, 1940 and 1944. The big find though was a 1906
Indian Head penny found in the frount yard. I plan on going back to this house
soon.

Got some good news. My school has allowed me a leave of absence so that I
can have more time with the family in the coming month. It is going to be a busy
one with the new baby coming and both my daughters starting school. I may even
have a few more opportunities to do some hunting. Been a while since I dug up
some silver.

This new page is an attempt to keep things more up to date on my website.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get out hunting too much this year. With
school, kids and my wife being pregnant, trips out have been few and far between.
I have made some nice finds like another silver Rosie, some wheats, buffao nickels
and a silver ring, but nothing to get overly excited about.
One more year of school and I should have some more free time. In the meantime,
I hope to get out more as the weather cools off a bit and find some new sites
that are full of old coins.
Thanks everyone for visiting and supporting my site. I am almost to 1000 hits
and am very proud of that. Keep checking things out, you never know when I might
find something really cool.
